TOP 10 GOLFERS who are chosen to be a part of the the 2011 Niagara College Knights Golf Team will be required to assist with the organization and operation of the Niagara College Foundation Golf Tournament taking place at Peninsula Lakes Golf Course on Wednesday, September 21, 2011.

Niagara College Knights Golfer Chad Currie (Owen Sound, ON) shot a final round of 76 (+4) on Friday to finish in fourth-place at the 2010 Ping National Championships in Kamloops, BC. Currie, who shot two consecutive rounds of 70 (-2), was in second-place, just four shots back of the tournament leader David Lang (Humber College) heading into the final round at the Dunes of Kamloops.
Currie would be named to the CCAA All-Canadian Tournament Team.
The Humber College Hawks team of Lang, Mark Hoffman, and Adrian Cord swept the podium finishing 1-2-3 in the Men’s Individual standings.
The Hawks also finished in first-place in the team standings with a combined three-day score of 848.
The Knights, who were tied for third-place heading into the final round, finished in fifth-place with a combined three-day score of 908.
Last year’s CCAA Men’s Golf Champion Chris Hargest (Owen, Sound) of the Niagara Knights team finished tied for 26th place after shooting three consecutive rounds of 76 (+4).
Ryan Curran (Thornton, ON), who won bronze at the OCAA Golf Championships in early October, finished tied for 31st at the Nationals with rounds of 74 (+2), 77 (+5), and 78 (+6).
The Knights fourth team member Chris Gardner (Thunder Bay, ON) recorded rounds of 78 (+6), 77 (+5), and 80 (+8) to finish tied for 56th in the field of 105 golfers.
