Chris Hargest (Owen Sound, ON) fired a final round score of 70 (-1) to give Niagara College their first ever Gold Medal in Men’s Individual Golf at the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association Golf Championship.

The first-year Business Administration student had a three-round score of 213 (73, 70, and 70) that allowed him to finish on top of the field of 96 golfers from Colleges across Canada.

Hargest prevailed after battling through three days of very cool and windy weather conditions at the Ambassador Golf Club in Windsor.

Niagara’s Ryan Curran (Thornton, ON) finished in fifth-place with solid round scores of 75 (+4), 73 (+2) and 71 (Par).

Both Hargest and Curran were selected to the All-Canadian Collegiate Team.

The Niagara Knights Men’s team finished 1 shot back of gaining a bronze medal. Their combined score of 898 gave them a fourth place finish.
